Welcome to the adventures of Yacht Freedom, a Knysna 44 Catamaran, and her crew.

Freedom was built in South Africa by the Knysna Yacht Company and since her birth she has sailed from the South Atlantic to the North Atlantic, through the Straits of Gibraltar, along the Mediterranean to Turkey.

There she languished until Tony, her new owner, took pity on her and rescued her for a life of adventure cruising.

In the Northern Summer of 2013 Tony refitted Freedom with all sorts of modern conveniences to make life on board comfortable and convenient. Then he tested her on short voyages around the coast of Turkey and the Greek Islands before heading South to Port Said in Egypt.

There Freedom travelled along the Suez Canal and the Gulf of Suez to El Gouna which is an upmarket marina complex at the northern end of the Red Sea.

This new series of blogs will record Freedom's voyage down the Red Sea, through the Gulf of Aden to the Islands of Seychelles.

I am afraid that the blogs will not be regularly updated because of the difficulties of finding Internet connections in the Red Sea, but when they are available we will add news as it happens.

Marjo will join Freedom in the Seychelles, so we will not have her expert photographic skills to add photographs to this blog, but we will do the best we can until then.

Freedom a été construite en Afrique du Sud par le Knysna Yacht Company et depuis sa naissance, elle a navigué de l'Atlantique Sud vers l'Atlantique Nord , à travers le détroit de Gibraltar, le long de la Méditerranée en Turquie.
 Là, le bateau languit jusqu'à Tony, son nouveau propriétaire, a eu pitié de lui et l'a sauvée d'une vie d'aventure croisière.
 Dans l'été du Nord de 2013 Tony réaménagé Freedom avec toutes sortes de commodités modernes pour rendre la vie à bord confortable et pratique. Puis il lui a testé des voyages courts autour de la côte de la Turquie et les îles grecques avant de se diriger Sud à Port-Saïd en Egypte.
 Il a voyagé le long de du Canal de Suez et le golfe de Suez à El Gouna qui est un complexe de la marina haut de gamme à l'extrémité nord de la Mer Rouge.

 Cette nouvelle série de blogs enregistrera le voyage du Freedom vers le sud de la Mer Rouge, dans le golfe d’Aden vers les îles des Seychelles.
 Je crains que les blogs ne seront pas mis à jour régulièrement en raison de la difficulté de trouver des connexions Internet dans la Mer Rouge, mais quand ils sont disponibles, nous allons ajouter nouvelles, comme il arrive.
 Marjo se joindra à Freedom dans les Seychelles, alors nous n'aurons pas ses compétences photographiques d'experts pour ajouter des photographies de ce blog, mais nous ferons de notre mieux jusque-là.
